Welcome to the site

11 January 2006
Yeah the site is not ready to go live yet. Infact there is still a lot of work to do, and I am doing it all by myself. The guy I am doing it with lied, and knows nothing at all about web site design or anything like that. Infact I do not even think he likes to type.

Anyway good news, the design is almost done, and when that is completed I will finish adding all the main content to the site. After that point it will be time to go live.

In the meantime if anyone actualy manages to stumble accrost this test page, check out my main site...

Nugent Dumps 'Motor City' For Bush Country

10 January 2006
The Motor City Madman is officially turning Texan. Ted Nugent, the once Michigan-based rocker and hunting activist, says he plans to get a Texas driver's license soon and will become a Texas resident in 2005. Nugent moved his family to Crawford, Texas, where President George Bush owns a sprawling ranch, about 18 months ago.

Nugent says his son Rocco is excelling in school and has done well in sports, and notes that the hunting in Crawford is great, too. "Right behind Rocco's school is game! It's a barbecue dream," he says.

Nugent -- who says he supports President Bush "100 percent" -- says his new home is "right around the corner" from Bush's ranch. Nugent is also working with the Texas fish and game department, where he writes for a state publication on bowhunting.

Queen To Reactivate At African AIDS Benefit

10 January 2006
A second concert aimed at strengthening the 46664 campaign to fight the African HIV/AIDS epidemic will be staged March 19 at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate in George, a seaside town on the Cape Garden Route.

The first 46664 concert was held Nov. 29, 2003, in Cape Town, and featured performances by surviving members of Queen, Bob Geldof, Peter Gabriel, Jimmy Cliff, Paul Oakenfold and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, among others.

Billed as 46664 South Africa, the upcoming show will again find Queen spearheading the musical action, this time accompanied by Paul Rodgers. Queen and Rodgers last week announced plans for a 2005 world tour.

Former South African president Nelson Mandela said a host of high-profile international artists (including several big-name female stars) will be joined by a line-up of South African artists at the concert. The full list will be revealed in the New Year. The event will also be filmed by the South African Broadcasting Corporation for transmission across the entire African sub-continent.

Helpin' Out - Doors Style

10 January 2006
Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger of the Doors are helping residents of Los Angeles' Morrison Hotel. The owner of the dwelling is being sued by the residents for allowing the building to become uninhabitable. Krieger, Manzarek and his son Pablo, will remix a song from the Door's 1969 album "Morrison Hotel" and sell the track online - with proceeds going to a legal fund for the tenants. If you hadn't guessed, the album was named after the residence in dispute.

Raspberries Get Together

10 January 2006
The original lineup of Seventies power pop band the Raspberries -- singer Eric Carmen, guitarist Wally Bryson, bassist David Smalley and drummer Jim Bonfanti -- are set to reunite for a handful of live gigs and, quite possibly, a full tour in 2005.

Before their 1975 split, the Raspberries scored a number of sizeable hits with their Beatles-meet-the-Who sound, including "Go All the Way," "I Wanna Be With You" and "Overnight Sensation." And while Carmen made his mark as a solo artist in the ensuing years ("All By Myself," "Hungry Eyes"), the Raspberries' shadow continued to loom large. So large that Carmen became squeamish about reuniting.

"Over thirty-plus years, a certain myth has grown up around the band. And the last thing I ever wanted to do was put us on a stage somewhere, in less than the best circumstances, and pop the bubble, have the fans come in and say, 'Gee, they weren't that good,'" admits Carmen. "It's your responsibility to give them something to be excited about.

"But it went absolutely beautifully," says Carmen of the group's experimental reunion gig at Cleveland's House of Blues the day after Thanksgiving. "We sold the date out in about four minutes, and everybody who was there had a phenomenal time." The show was such a success that the Raspberries decided to return for a New Year's set tomorrow night.
